Privacy Policy
Effective September 7, 2026. This policy describes information processed by the publisher of citizentips.com. For privacy requests, use our contact form and select Privacy request.
Information we collect
Newsletter forms collect your email address, subscription preference, consent version and submission time. Contact forms collect your name, email, subject, message and time. Unsubscribe submissions store an email suppression preference. Do not include passwords, payment information or sensitive personal records in a message.
Why we use it
We use subscriptions to maintain the newsletter list, contact details to handle correspondence, and suppression records to respect opt-outs. Subscription is optional and based on your consent. Form sessions and abuse prevention support reliable operation and security.
Cookies, analytics and server records
Forms use an essential session cookie for request protection. A local-storage preference remembers your analytics choice. Optional page-view tracking runs after you choose Allow analytics. The tracking service can process the site identifier, IP address, browser and campaign/recipient identifiers supplied in email links. Hosting infrastructure may separately log network requests, including IP addresses and browser information. Form rate limiting stores a hashed network identifier for a short period. See our Cookie Policy.
Email pages
The /open/ page processes an email-open event on the server using identifiers supplied in the email URL. No JavaScript is used, and an open request does not establish that a human read an email. After a successful unsubscribe confirmation, the site sends an unsubscribe event and forwards any campaign identifiers and email hash included in the URL to the tracking service. The local newsletter preference is also updated.
Storage, sharing and retention
Submissions are stored on the site’s server. We do not sell the form data or share it with advertisers. Hosting providers process information needed to serve the website. The operator’s existing campaign tracking database receives email-open, consented visit and confirmed-unsubscribe events. If an additional mail delivery provider is added, this policy must identify that processing before use. Newsletter data is kept while subscribed; minimal suppression information may be kept to honor opt-outs. Contact messages should be deleted when resolved and no longer needed. You may request deletion using the contact form.
Your choices
You may unsubscribe, request access or correction, or ask for deletion. We may need to verify an address before disclosing or deleting its records. Open Privacy choices in the footer to change optional analytics consent. You may also contact the relevant data protection authority where applicable. Withdrawing consent does not undo processing already completed.
Advertising and third-party links
No advertising tags are active in this launch build. If Google AdSense is enabled later, Google and advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, subject to applicable consent requirements. Read Google’s advertising policy information and manage preferences through My Ad Center. A suitable consent platform must be configured before ads are enabled where required. External sites have their own privacy practices.
Children and updates
This general-audience publication does not intentionally solicit personal information from children. A parent or guardian may request removal of a child’s submission. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date and this page.
